News By ASH My family was invited to a small function at the George Hanna Library hosted by Mayor Ron Hoenig on opening night, Friday 5th September 2008. It is a small exhibition of Souths memorabilia and is on display till February 2009. Some very intersting photos and stuff I hadn't seen before, I had a chat to the following who were in attendance, George Piggins, Bob Macarthy, Clem Kennedy & family. There were a few other players as well but I cant remember. I also thought a saw bloke who looked strangely like Moda wondering around the oysters / prawns / sushi / champagne and other culinary delights for the 2 alloted hours, I have forwarded some photos to Moda to upload here. The most intriguing thing for me was a banner made up in the mid 60s which was done by the W.A.R.L and has a nice black swan painted on it holding a carraf with a long neck of Swan Lager, check it out its awesome. The exhibition is at 2 Hatfield Street Mascot, I highly recommend it. K.H. K, my sincere thanks for the invitation I had a most enjoyable, and informative evening. Moda |
